The ways of water

A river whatever the season will offer something to marvel at and contemplate, a winters river is a gift for when all around may appear bleak and one dimensional a river has many a reflection; cascading ripples bathed in low light, glides that tumble into pools of icy glass, all will warm the heart however cold the day. Nature finds a way along its course too; heron, otter, dipper and the kingfisher all can be seen if we are patient. When finding these gifts in the cold light of a winters day we should remember to take time in unwrapping the scenes in order to see how they fold, where they are held and what may be provided for; there is magic to behold in a winters river.
