Carl Hier Offers a small tribute to a fellow raconteur & guardian extraordinaire.

‘If the chance arises he’ll dangle a line, enjoying the fruits of his labour,
and the fish, of course, duly oblige,
for him, special moments to savour
.’

The guardian’s work is never done,
He thinks, he plots, he plans, he’s always looking to improve, with machines, tools and his hands

Wading, digging, trimming, lifting,
Moving trees when they’re upended,
Everything planned and managed with care, gaining access, flows amended

Before

After

Looking for issues, always reviewing, home improvements for the fish, their best possible natural habitat, is his sole purpose and wish

If the chance arises he’ll dangle a line, enjoying the fruits of his labour, and the fish, of course, duly oblige, for him, special moments to savour

They’re giving their thanks for all his work, for their great new homes and lives, to the man who’s always on their side, it’s for them he continually strives

His actions speak louder than words, he’s a man who gets stuff done, idle chat doesn’t help the fish,
Change counts to this custodian

Despite all the challenges faced,
We hope fish will always be there,
And there’s every chance this will be the case, thanks to their guardian extraordinaire
